Female genital mutilation is a procedure where the female genitals are deliberately cut or injured as there’s no medical reason for this to be done.

 

 

FGM\C Direct complications:

  • Chock .
  • Bleeding.
  • Pain.
  • Inflammation.
  • Urine disorder.
  • Barzlin gland infection.
  • Apparent distortion.

 FGM\C Long-term complications:

  • pain with monthly period or menstruation
  • protracted and difficult birth.
  • Trauma during wedding night where virginity disengagement is difficult in some cases due to severe fear.
  • pain during sexual intercourse.
  • sexual dullness.
  • Serious Psychological complications.
